From the Field to the Boardroom — and Back Again
Jessica Morgan's career in philanthropy began not in a corner office, but in the field — working alongside grassroots organizations in East Africa to understand what meaningful giving actually looks like from the ground up. That formative experience shaped everything that followed: a deep conviction that generosity, to be truly transformative, must be rooted in knowledge, strategy, and genuine relationship.
Over the next decade, Jessica rose to senior leadership roles at two of the world's most respected international charitable organizations, overseeing grant portfolios spanning education, healthcare, environmental conservation, and economic empowerment across more than 40 countries. She became known for her ability to bridge the worlds of high-net-worth donors and on-the-ground implementers — translating complex global challenges into clear, actionable giving strategies.
In 2018, Jessica founded Purposeful Giving to bring that same rigor and care to individual philanthropists and families. She recognized that many generous people were giving reactively — responding to appeals rather than leading with intention. Her mission became helping them do the opposite: to give with clarity, strategy, and the confidence that their resources were creating the change they truly cared about.
